Yup it's high honors. Anywhere (depending on the system) 3.50-3.74, and a first degree would be Summa cum laude 3.75 to 4.0.

So, it is very good. This person is being an idiot (per the OP request).

Idiot is a bit harsh, in all fairness I just wanted to be told I was being stupid.

From your own LJ post in your journal you called yourself a cunt. Which is way more harsh than an idiot.

Besides idiot/stupid pretty much the same insult in my neck of the woods.

After all you are trolling the interwebs to get strangers to tell you, "no you're not stupid you're Ace."

So, yeah you are being an idiot.

Calling oneself an insult is totally fine, I can call myself as such because I know me, and in any case it is in relation to the other things I did during that three year space. Also, its on my personal journal, yes open to the public and therefore scrutiny but didn't release it was to be cross referenced by every passive aggressive poster.

This entry is more about what post grads see 2:1s as, in the UK they are pretty much the norm. We have 1sts which are the highest of the high, and then everyone pales into insignificance with a 2:1. I wanted to be told that what I have achieved is more than that, that's all. I wanted to know what the ladies on here thought as my friends are of course bias in their views.

Welcome to LJ.

FYI, I had a super-shitty undergrad GPA (my school didn't do honors, but if it did I wouldn't have gotten any) and had no problem getting into a Master's program. And then my As in the Master's program got me into a top PhD program. So whatever your GPA, there is always hope.

I suppose I didn't expect women post-grads to be as passive aggressive as regular people in other LJ forums. Silly me.

I want to get onto a PhD so that's really comforting to know, although, thinking about anymore academia makes my brain fizz with agony.
